Privacy

What we store: your email, display name, optional avatar, the groups and meetups you take part in, your votes and messages.

Contacts: if you allow it, the app reads the email addresses in your address book, hashes them on your phone (SHA-256 with a fixed salt) and sends only the hashes to find friends already on WeSettle. Hashes are compared and discarded; we never store your address book.

Votes on places are hidden from other participants until the poll closes.

Content rules and moderation: messages, names and photos you share are visible only to members of your groups. Harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam and illegal content are not allowed. You can report any message, meetup, group or user from the app (long-press a message, or use the ⋮ menu) and block users from Settings → Blocked users; blocked users' messages are hidden from you. Reports are reviewed by us and may lead to content removal or account suspension. You can also write to iz1kga@gmail.com.
